Fishing in the troubled waters

Sir,
The National Investigating Agency (NIA) probing terror funding cases of the separatists in Kashmir have brought to the fore astounding facts regarding the activities of these leaders. Thorough and incisive investigations have revealed that the terror funds received by the most prominent members of the All Party Hurriyat Conference faction led by Ali Shah Geelani many amongst them the latter’s kith and kin, have been ruthlessly, and obviously with the blessings of their mentor utilised so far in the purchase of houses, bungalows, flats, vast orchards, and other startling number of  benami properties in different parts of the Valley and even outside. As the probe progresses, there is every likelihood of more skeletons tumbling out of the skeletons of these self-seekers and their patron Geelani. The persistent and pointed enquiries and raids conducted by the investigating Agency  have incidentally, lifted the  lid from the insidious cauldron of conspiracy being hatched for years to fish in the troubled waters of Kashmir for personal  gains.
In the long drawn out ‘struggle for aazadi’, which has fizzled out, vested interests have been naturally created. The policy has been to continue causing violent disturbances in the calm waters of Kashmir and then fish in them.
Ludwig, a historian, has observed that “Napoleon went out to seek virtue. Since  she was not to be found, he got power”. Likewise the militant leaders went out to seek  ‘aazadi’, since it remained elusive, they found an alternative and started amassing wealth.
As things stand, these opportunists, will not allow any settlement of the Kashmir issue because violence will serve as grist to their mill of self interests.
The unacceptable actions of the Geelani ilk, brought forth to the public gaze, have been acts of perfidy vis-a-vis the people of Kashmir which the latter will know in course of time. These so called well wishers of the Kashmiri Muslims will then stop taking the unsuspecting people for a ride.
Yours etc…
