257 promoted as SgCts

JAMMU, Aug 11: As Independence Day gift, Headquarters of Home Guards, Civil Defence and SDRF J&K ordered promotion of 257 eligible candidates as Selection Grade Constables (SgCts).
According to official communiqué, in pursuance of Government order whereby sanction was accorded for increase in the strength of the Selection Grade Constables (SgCt) from 25 per cent to 50 per cent, L Mohanti, ADGP HG/CD and SDRF J&K in order to boost the morale of subordinate constabulary and accord the eligible candidates to benefit of promotions from Constables to SgCts immediately constituted a Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) under his chairmanship.
Danesh Rana, IGP HG/CD and SDRF J&K, AK Mahajan, SSP, Staff Officer (Admn) to ADGP HG/CD and SDRF J&K and Bashir Ahmad Sofi, Commandant SDRF 1st Bn Srinagar were appointed as members for prompt scrutinizing of records and bringing the eligible Constables on promotion list for issuance of orders.
After the entire exercise, Headquarters of Home Guards, Civil Defence and SDRF J&K issued promotion order of 257 eligible candidates as Selection Grade Constables (SgCts) as Independence Day gift.
