JAMMU, Aug 14: Police arrested a woman along with illicit liquor from village Chak Tara, falling under the jurisdiction of Arnia police station.
As per police sources, based on reliable information, a police team led by SDPO RS Pura Surinder Choudhary under the supervision of SP Headquarters Jammu RC Kotwal conducted raid in village Chak Tara and apprehended a lady along with 50 litres lahan and 2 litres illicit liquor.
The arrested woman has been identified as Veena Kumari, wife of Bittu Lal of Chak Tara.
The lady was selling the illicit liquor to the people near her house and on seeing the police cops, the consumers fled away from the spot.
She was arrested around two months back while selling illicit liquor near her house.
A case under FIR Number 76/17 under Section 48-A Excise Act has been registered at police station Arnia and investigation started.
