Govt fails to address annual Darbar Move issue: NPP

JAMMU, Apr 27: National Panthers Party (NPP) today staged protest demonstration outside Governor House against the Government apathy in addressing the publicized issue of annual Darbar Move.
NPP activists led by Balwant Singh Mankotia, MLA and State president, raised slogans against the Government in support of their demand to review and to limit the exercise of Darbar move.
Addressing the gathering, Balwant Singh Mankotia, called upon the Government to seriously deliberate upon the subject of annual Darbar move in view of the huge expenditure involved in the process besides great inconvenience caused to the people of both the regions.
He said at the outset, Government could follow the High Court model whereby both the wings of the High Court function simultaneously with the Chief Justice involving with the Darbar move.
Mankotia called for a brain storming session involving all political parts to wriggle out the situation and to evolve a broad consensus on the subject in the interest of general public.
Among others present were Daljit Singh, vice president, Anita Thakur, general secretary, Faqir Nath, provincial president, Rajinder Singh Manju, Rakesh Gupta and Maqbool Malik, State secretaries, Raghubir Singh Biloria and Khajoor Singh, provincial vice presidents, Rajesh Pargotra, provincial general secretary, etc.
