NEW DELHI: World Cup winning captain MS Dhoni will soon be seen nurturing young talents in UAE as the cricketer has opened his first cricket academy in Dubai.
The MSD Academy, which is already running in Bokaro, Varanasi and Lucknow, was opened on August 15 in Dubai and is the first cricket academy of the Ranchi lad overseas.
Confirming the development, Dhoni’s close aide and former cricketer Mihir Diwakar said,”Our Sports Management company — AARKA — signed an agreement with UAE’s Pacific Sports Club to open the academy. We are also looking forward to open MSD academies in countries like South Africa and Singapore for which talks are on.”
Mihir, who was also a part of Under-19 world cup winning team in 2000, further said that Dhoni will be soon visiting Dubai to teach cricketing skills to youngsters in the newly opened cricket centre.
He also said that Dhoni’s dream was to open such an academy in his hometown Ranchi for which talks with the State Government were in final rounds. (AGENCIES)
