Healthcare in J&K

Sir,
The health sector in country has not yet grown to the extent where it can provide quality care to the patients. Result? The general masses especially the poor people are the worst hit. They are at the receiving end of the system.
Though urban areas are to some extent receiving quality care, the situation in rural areas is quite deplorable.                  In a rural hospital, I saw mice darting here and there prowling for food. These mice at times add to the woes of patients. Besides, there were no beds for patients.
The patients were seen pleading for beds. As there were no beds, the patients were asked to sprawl on ground for treatment. There was shortage of doctors and other para-medicos. Due to shortage of staff, people had to face severe hardships and embarrassment.
There were unhygienic conditions in and outside the hospital. The rooms and  corridors reeked of stench. The stench was quite unbearable. The overall scenario was quite depressing and dismaying.
The Health Ministry must step into  improve the condition of hospitals in general, and in particular those located in rural areas.
Yours etc…
