Truck operator stabbed

SAMBA, Apr 27: A truck operator was seriously injured after he was attacked by some members of the rival Truck Union of Samba in a factory premises in Industrial area here today.
Reports said the incident took place when some trucks were parked in the Berger Paints factory premises for loading goods. A few members of the union and some hired goons arrived there and attacked some operators objecting to the lifting of goods. They attacked one of the truckers, Kuldip Singh of Kolpur village with some sharp edged weapons and then escaped. Later, police party arrived there. The injured driver was shifted to district hospital Samba and then sent to GMC Jammu. The police have held four persons in this connection and the investigation was on. They said due to tussle between members of truck union, this problem has been created in the town. They had also held protest at DC office two days back demanding fair elections.
