Jora lays foundation stone of new TRC complex at Katra

Minister for Tourism and Culturel Nawang Rigzin Jora laying foundation stone of TRC Complex at Katra on Friday.

KATRA, Apr 27-Minister for Tourism and Culturel, Nawang Rigzin Jora, today laid the foundation stone of new TRC complex at Katra to be completed at a cost of Rs.4 crore.
The upcoming 3 storey TRC complex with a provision for parking, would have restaurant, waiting hall , 10 rooms with attach toilet facility , 2 suit rooms , one conference hall , 12 bed capacity 2 dormitories , multipurpose hall etc.
MLA Reasi, Baldev Raj Sharma, Commissioner Secretary Tourism, Atal Duloo, Additional CEO SMVDSB, Dr M K Bhandari, District Development Commissioner Reasi, Sheetal Nanda, Director Tourism, Robin Singh Mehta, Chief Executive Officer, Katra Development Authority, Amarjeet Singh, Additional SP Katra, SDPO Katra, Director Spiritual Growth Centre, Engineers from Tourism Department and local officers from JKTDC and other departments were present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister disclosed that project for the construction of Tourist Reception Central Katra has been sanctioned by Union Ministry of Tourism, which will be completed in 3 years time.
The Minister said that Government has taken several steps to explore new Tourism destinations besides develop heritage centers to diversify the scope of tourism in the state. He further said that the number of pilgrims of Shri Mata Vaishano Deviji was increasing every year and the TRC will provide necessary information to the visitors and help to divert the rush to other tourist potential spots of the region.
