JAMMU, Aug 18: All India Backward Classes Union (AIBCU) -Social, has said that all the political parties must think on the serious implications of Article 35 A and 370 in the J&K State.
A spokesman of the organization said that much noise is being heard from different political parties in J&K State over the sub-judice case of 35-A. Those political leaders who are against the abrogation of 35-A and Art 370, to whom they want to give benefits ? Under Art. 370; the majority of the J&K State population comprising of OBCs (Called OSCs 60%), SCs (8%) & ST (10%) could not get their due share in J&K State.
He said the SCs and STs got representation under Poona Pact between Dr Ambedkar and Gandhi in 1932 but in J&K State it was implemented only after the sacrifice of Bhagat Amar Nath in 1972. It was VP Singh who became Prime Minister in 1989 and granted 27% reservation to OBCs and the same was dragged in Apex Court which upheld the decision of VP Singh in 1992, his judgment was not implemented in J&K State by Dr Farooq Abdullah and his son Omar Abdullah, who took over the reign of J&K state in 1975. The NC; NC-Congress; PDP-Congress Govts did not implement the same and now PDP -BJP regime even after the lapse of 3 years has not implemented Mandal Report.
Now under Art 370 & 35-A, State rulers like Dr Farooq Abdullah, Omar Abdullah, Ghulam Nabi Azad and now Mehbooba Mufti and BJP plundered the rights of the State OBCs (called OSCs) and the provision of reservation in promotion inspite of Apex Court’s stay over JK High Court’s order has been stopped.
When a large population has been ruined under the garb of Art 370 & 35-A, who are the people to whom the State leaders are to give the benefits by opposing the scrapping of Art 370 & 35-A, the spokesman added.
AIBCU has cautioned the down trodden categories of the State to remain vigilant.
Besides the executive members, Sandhok Chand, MR Bangotra, Prof. Kali Dass, Najam-ud-Din and Mohd Rashid also shared their views.
