JAMMU, Aug 19: One hundred and nineteen civilians stranded on either side of two divided parts of the State including Jammu and Kashmir and Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) will finally cross over to their home towns from Uri-Muzaffarabad route on August 21 after seven weeks of being stranded.
A decision to this effect has been taken by administration of both the States, official sources said.
While cross-LoC travel and trade on Poonch-Rawlakote route in Jammu region will remain closed next week also, the administration would transport 116 PoK citizens, held up on this side for past seven weeks now, from Poonch to Kaman Post in Uri sector of Baramulla district in Kashmir valley on Monday morning from where they will cross over to PoK.
Similarly, sources said, three civilians from Jammu, who were held up in PoK for an equal number of weeks, will enter Uri from Muzaffarabad and then will be transported to their houses.
The trade and travel on Poonch-Rawlakote route will not resume even next week. It was remained suspended since July 10 in view of heavy mortar shelling and firing by Pakistan army in Poonch and Rajouri districts including Chakan-Da-Bagh from where the Poonch bus crossed over to Rawlakote.
