JAMMU, Aug 20: To gear up and to accelerate development works across the State Jammu & Kashmir Member Parliament Rajya Sabha Shamsher Singh Manhas laying foundation stone for the upgradation of School building in the presence of Prabodh Sharma, Executive Engineer Jammu Municipal Corporation.
He released Rs 13 lakh out of his MPLAD Fund to improve the infrastructure of Government Higher Secondary School, Paloura so that enrollment of the students in the institution is improved. It was a long pending demand of the public regarding the same issue.
Besides, Manhas assured that the matter will be taken up with the concerned authorities for formulation of a comprehensive plan for upgradation of the requisite infrastructure in the school. This school was made functional in early fifties and it is one of the oldest schools in the village which is also a heritage of the area.
On this occasion GHSS Principal Harbans Lal, Ex-Sarpanch Balbir Singh, Balwant Singh, Bishan Sharma, Joginder Singh, Bahadur Singh, Ashok Singh, Jagdish Singh, Uttam Singh, Satish Kumar, Shesha and prominent people of the area were also present.
