Retd policemen demand parity in pay grades

Excelsior Correspondent

SAMBA, Aug 20: Retired Non-Gazetted police personnel today held protest at Vijaypur and demanded that anomaly in their pay grades be removed without any more delay.
The retired policemen under the banner of Non-Gazetted Police Pensioners Welfare Forum led by Ajit Singh assembled at Vijaypur in district Samba today and held brief protest in support of their demand. They pointed out that Order No. 229-F of 2014, dated 17-10-2014 was not acceptable to them regarding pay anomalies because the effect is being given to them only from the date of order and not prior to that. With this, a grave injustice has been done to the retired Policemen. They are struggling right from 1996 when the 5th Pay Commission was implemented. From 2007, the case was filed in the court. Some of the police men have expired but the surviving strugglers should be provided justice.
They also demanded to enhance Medical Allowance from Rs 300 to Rs 3000 per month, cashless health policy be provided to the retired police personnel on the pattern of Army and Paramilitary forces, 15 % job quota be provided to the wards of police men and at the time of death Rs 50,000 be provided as cash assistance to the family for performing last rites of the deceased cop.
