AJKAC discusses issues concerning Ayush sector

JAMMU, Aug 21: All J&K Ayurvedic Congress (AJKAC) today discussed various matters concerning Ayush sector in the State, in its meeting held here today under the chairmanship of its State president, Dr BR Sharma.
The meeting expressed concern over delay in making Government Ayurvedic College functional in Jammu despite assurance by Health Minister, Bali Bhagat. The meeting also stressed on provision of staff for single handed 45 dispensaries and regularization of non-sanctioned Ayush dispensaries under State or district plan, besides regularization of Ayush units functioning in Allopathic sector and Panchkarma/Khyarsutra units functioning in Ayurvedic Hospital, Jammu.
The other demands that came up for discussion include bifurcation of present State level Directorate of Ayush and subsequent establishment of provincial directorates recommended by State Finance Commission, streamlining of Ayush Department by doing away with adhocism and sanctioning and establishing new dispensaries in each district, immediate election for the Board of Ayurvedic and Unani medicine, etc.
