Shabir reviews power scenario

RAJOURI, Apr 27: Minister of State for Power, Shabir Ahmed Khan today called upon concerned authorities of Power Development Department to ensure time bound completion of all ongoing power projects in Rajouri and Poonch Districts, adding that all un-electrified villages and hamlets of these twins districts are being provided electricity facility under RGGVY. He said the Center has approved revised plan of Rs 79.96 crore under RGGVY for Rajouri district.
The Minister reviewed over all power scenario of these twin districts at a high level meeting held here today.
Principal Secretary, Power Development Department, Sudahanshiu Pandey, Managing Director JKSPDC, Basharat Ahmed Dhar, Development Commissioner Power, Manzoor Ahmed salroo, Chief Engineer M&RE Jammu, Shahnaz Goni, Chief Engineer RGGVY, M.k.Gupta, Chief Engineer CID, Superitendenting Engineer’s RGGVY and M&RE Rajouri- Poonch Districts where among others attended the meeting.
The Minister instructed concerned authorities for equal distribution of power load on Grid Stations Chandik and Kalakot which have been recently commissioned and augmented. He stressed for timely completion of ongoing receiving stations in these districts.
Mr. Shabir said that the Government endeavors to expand hydel power potential of these twins districts, adding that the construction work on Purnai 37MW Power Project and 7MW Power Project Garginkigali in Poonch distict would be taken up soon . He said the Government is also exploring possibilities for construction of power projects Mandi, Chingus and Mangota. He asked the concerned to expedite completion of all codal formalities for early taking up of these projects.
The meeting also reviewed pace of progress of power works being executed at an estimated cost of Rs 12 crore in Rajouri town under R-APDRP. It was told that an amount of Rs 37.66 crore have been expended so for in Rajouri and Poonch districts for up gradation of power infrastructure under RGGVY.
While reviewing the work on receiving stations at Bhatian, Laroka, Praru, Kandiprori and Gambair brahamna, the Minister directed concerned to redouble their efforts and accelerate the pace of work on these projects for time bound completion.
