Court awards 6 yrs RI to accused after 14 yrs long investigation, trial

JAMMU, Nov 2: Principal Sessions Judge Poonch, Kishore Kumar today awarded six years rigorous imprisonment and fine of Rs 10,000 to Ikhlaq Hussain Shah, son of Musa Shah of Qasba, tehsil Haveli, Poonch, who is presently working in the Revenue Department for obtaining job on the basis of fake certificate.
According to the police case, on July 20, 1998 SHO Police Station Poonch was directed for registration of case against Ikhlaq Hussain Shah on a complaint received from RPHQ Rajouri that Ikhlaq Hussain was only 6th Class pass but he has joined the Government service (Revenue Department) on the production of false school leaving certificate of 8th pass issued from Government Middle School Bandi Chechian.
The matter was enquired into through DySP Headquarters Poonch and the allegations levelled against the accused were established on the strength of several evidences.
After hearing Public Prosecutor Nazir for the State whereas Advocate Anuj Kapoor for the accused, Principal Sessions Judge said, “keeping in view the facts and circumstances of the case the accused is sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment for 5 years in offence under Section 471 RPC along with fine of Rs 10000. In case of non-payment of fine, the accused will under go simple imprisonment of three months and one year in the offence under Section 201 RPC. All the sentences will run concurrently.
