SRINAGAR, Aug 23: Protests broke out in Handwara after a family claimed that militant killed in Hafrooda forests by security forces is their ward, a mentally challenged and was missing for last 7 days.
The family claimed that the killed man is 23-year old Shahid Ahmad Mir, son of Bashir Mir from Daril Tarthpora in Handwara and was missing from his house since one week.
Security forces yesterday said that a militant was killed in an encounter in Handwara area of North Kashmir’s Kupwara district after security forces launched a massive operations against a group of militants.
