RAJOURI, Nov 2: The people staged massive protest demonstration against State police authorities and blocked traffic at Abdullah bridge on Jammu-Poonch highway here for over an hour demanding detailed investigation by a retired Judge into the mysterious death of a Constable driver of Rajouri town at the residence of DySP of 11th IRP Battalion at Sainik Colony in Jammu last year.
Nearly 300 people of the town after Friday prayers came out on the road and took out a protest demonstration. Later, raising slogans against the Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah, Minister of State for Home Nasir Aslam Wani and DGP, they moved towards Abdullah Bridge and raised barricades. Till date no FSL report or detailed postmortem report has come. The parents and relatives of the deceased were moving from pillar to post and even met SSP, DIG, IGP and the MoS Home, Nasir Aslam Wani but police was trying to hush up the case. They said it was clear case of murder and they do not have trust on Crime Branch team and the Police investigation. They urged Chief Minister to intervene personally and order a probe by a retired Judge.
It was further alleged by the parents of deceased that incident took place on December 3, 2011 and he was going to be married on December 11, 2011. Two days earlier he had told on phone that he was not getting leave for marriage as his application was even torn by his DySP concerned. The boy was very upset for not being given leave by seniors. They again said that concerned officer was claiming that boy committed suicide but Shahid was his driver and body guard. He was not provided any gun. Bullet marks were visible on the walls where incident took place and it gave sufficient indications that something foul had taken place there and the police was trying to hush up. They demanded that truth should come out and the concerned people including said DySP be grilled properly.
