REASI, Aug 26: Police today arrested two bootleggers and seized 85 pouches of illicit liquor from their possession.
The accused have been identified as Shambu Nath and .Romesh Singh of Sujandhar, Reasi. . FIR number .175/2017 u/s 48-A Excise Act has been registered in this connection at PS Reasi.
During Naka duty at Thappa Chowk Reasi, police party spotted the accused persons coming from Bus Stand to Thappa Chowk and carrying one bag each. On seeing the Police party, they started running backwards. Finding this suspicious act, the Police party chased the duo and caught hold of them. During search of their bags, 65 poly pouches of 250ml each and 20 poly pouches of 375 ml each of JK Excise Whisky were recovered.
Police arrested the duo and seized the recovered whisky.
