NEW DELHI, Aug 28: Silver prices went up by Rs 124 or 0.31 per cent to Rs 39,770 per kg in futures trade today as participants indulged in enlarging positions amid a firm trend overseas.
Silver for delivery in December was up by Rs 124 or 0.31 per cent at Rs 39,770 per kg at the Multi Commodity Exchange in a business turnover of 16 lots.
The September contract spurted Rs 111 or 0.28 per cent to Rs 39,123 per kg in 659 lots.
Analysts said widening of positions by speculators in line with firm global markets influenced silver prices.
Meanwhile, silver was up 0.35 per cent to USD 17.11 an ounce in Singapore today. (PTI)
