JAMMU, Aug 28: Police arrested a woman along with 2 litres of illicit liquor.
As per police sources, on specific information, a police team led by SDPO RS Pura Surinder Choudhary and SHO Arnia Inspector Satish Kumar under the supervision of SP Headquarters Jammu RC Kotwal conducted raid ay village Sheikhupur and arrested a lady, who was selling illicit liquor to the people. On seeing cops, the people purchasing the illicit liquor escaped from the spot.
During checking, police recovered 2 litres of illicit liquor from the possession of the lady and also destroyed 50 litres of lahan and utensils.
The arrested lady has been identified as Veena Devi, wife of Rashpal alias Pappu, a resident of Sheikupur.
A case under FIR Number 82/17 under Section 48-A Excise Act has been registered at police station Arnia and investigation started.
