RAJOURI, Aug 29: A 17-year-old boy, brother-in-law of DC’s PA, Mehmood Ahmed, who along with six other family members was killed in car accident near Narian in Chingus area on Monday, is said to be missing from the spot.
The family members told the police that in the ill-fated Celerio car No. JK-11B/4300, Viqar (Mehmood’s brother-in-law), son of Mohd Iqbal (Retd Head Master), resident of Gambhir Muglan in Manjakote, was also travelling. They said Vaqar and another boy, their relative, had to come to Rajouri from Jammu on Monday. While, Vaqar got adjusted tightly in the car with Mehmood’s family, he came in Tata Sumo from Jammu later.
As the entire family was shattered over the deaths of all the seven members late last evening, Vaqar’s parents started inquiring about their son. This boy who arrived later in Sumo revealed about Vaqar’s fate. Then the relatives along with police rushed to the accident spot near Narian and started search for the missing boy. They apprehended that Vaqar’s body might have washed away in flooded nallah. The boy is said to be studying in Jammu.
SSP, Rajouri, Yougal Manhas when contacted said that they received late information from the relatives of the boy Vaqar, that he was also travelling in the same ill-fated car along with Mahmood’s family. Thereafter, police party and relatives rushed again to the site of accident along with search lights. They continued search operation for some time but then returned later night without any clue.
Manhas said that today again the search operation was resumed by police along with NDRF team and locals. The help of Army divers was also sought. They searched for the boy down stream for several kilometers but failed to trace him till this evening. The boy is believed to have washed away in the flood. He said the search will be continued further. The Police Station Nowshera and other concerned police posts have been alerted about the missing of the boy. The last location of the boy from his mobile phone has been traced in the same area of Narian in Chingus, the SSP maintained.
