RAJOURI, Sept 1: Minister for Animal, Sheep Husbandry and Fisheries, Abdul Gani Kohli said that the Government is committed to provide equitable development of all the three regions of the State and measures are being taken to upgrade the living standard of the people.
The Minister was addressing a gathering at village Jigni in Kalakote constituency during his weeklong tour to the district. He said that the State is heading towards new heights of prosperity, development and has witnessed massive development during the present coalition regime. He said there is need for improvement and many more steps are underway to improve the socio-economic conditions of under privileged and deserving class of the society.
Referring to the developmental works under execution in the constituency, the Minister said that the construction work on various micro and macro developmental projects is a pace and these projects and schemes will not only change the socio- economic condition of the people of the area but also help to provide employment opportunities to the educated unemployed youth of the area.
He said directions have already been issued to the district administration to speed up the pace of work on all ongoing developmental works and complete them in a time frame. The Minister further said that the concerned officers have been instructed to visit their respective areas and identify the developmental works and submit the plans to the concerned quarter for accord of necessary approval and arrangement of funds.
On the occasion, the locals put forth their charter of demands which included construction of lanes, drains and replacement of old and damaged electric poles. The Minister gave them patient hearing and assured them that their genuine demands will be looked into.
