REASI, Sept 3: Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages participated in 3-day annual Sujan Dhar Lok Mela, which was held on 1st, 2nd and 3rd of September.
In the valedictory function, Babu Ram, ADDC, Reasi was the chief guest while Shankar Das, BDO and Sudesh Kumar, Tehsildar, Sujan Dhar, were guests of honour. Sonu Shah, chairman and Mukhtiar Singh, president of Sujan Dhar Lok Mela Committee and Dr Arvinder Singh Amn, Additional Secretary, Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages were also present in the presidium. This Mela was organized by Sujan Dhar Mela Committee.
While speaking on the occasion, ADDC Babu Ram applauded the performances of the students of the local schools and he specially mentioned the names of Government High School, Sujandhar and Government High School, Kotru. He also assured to fulfil the demands of creating seating structure here at the venue so that the audience can properly sit during the events organized in this place. He also detailed about the flagship schemes of the Government and their implementation.
Earlier, Dr Arvinder Singh Amn, informed about On the Spot Children Music Competition, being organized in the various districts of the Jammu region and also requested the gathering to participate in the said competition being organized in Reasi in near future. He expected maximum participation form such areas. He also detailed about the future activities of the J&K Cultural Academy.
The folk parties participated in the said Mela, include: Mukhtiar Singh and Party(Kud, Sujan Dhar), Sushma Devi and Party(Geetru), Rumal Singh and Party (Bhaakh), Titro Devi and Party(Pahari Folk Song), Bhuri Singh and Party (Kud, Bakkal), Kajur Singh and Party(Bhaakh), Sars Bharti and Party(Geetru, Ram Nagar)and Ashok Kumar and Party(Kolanta). The students of Government High School, Sujan Dhar and Kotru also performed Dogri folk dances.
The proceedings of the program were conducted by Bishan Das, Assistant Cultural Officer and vote of thanks was presented by Bhupinder Singh Jamwal, Choreographer, JKAACL, who was also overall incharge of the event.
Among others, who were present on the occasion, include Bhim Singh, Sarpanch Sote, Thakur Kapoor Singh, Sarpanch Bakkal, Panch Devinder Singh and Ram Singh, S Amarjeet Singh, Head Master, Government High School, Sujan Dhar, Master Rakesh Kumar and a large gathering from Sujan Dhar and adjoining areas.
