MLA, Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities call on Governor

SRINAGAR, Sept 4: Mian Altaf Ahmad, Member Legislative Assembly from Kangan, called on Governor N.N. Vohra at the Raj Bhavan.
Mian Altaf held extensive discussions with the Governor regarding the obtaining challenges facing the State and the various major developmental issues which require high priority attention.
Governor appreciated Mian Altaf’s concerns and urged him to continue sustained efforts for promoting harmony and people’s welfare in his area and to devote particular attention for ensuring that the career interests of students were not allowed to get vitiated by adverse factors and influences.
Mohd. Iqbal Lone, Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities also called on Governor.
In the context of Governor’s several earlier discussions with Sajad Gani Lone, Minister for Social Welfare, ARI & Trainings and Science & Technology, regarding the high importance which requires to be devoted to the management of the entire disability sector in the State, Lone briefed the Governor about the various steps which had been recently taken for alleviating the lot of physically challenged persons.
Referring to the serious barriers which are continuing to be faced by persons with disabilities, Governor observed that he will very shortly be discussing all outstanding issues with Chief Minister and Sajad Gani Lone, Minister for Social Welfare ARI & Trainings and Science & Technology.
