RAMBAN, Sept 4: A seven -year-old girl died due to suspected food poisoning in Batote area of the district.
As per police sources, eight people of Gami Bhati area of village Champa in tehsil Batote were rushed to the CHC Batote last night when they complained of stomach ache and vomiting after attending a function in the house of Charan Dass.
A seven-year-old girl namely Pravli Devi, daughter of Desraj died enroute to the hospital, while out of seven, two have been shifted to the Government Medical College hospital, Jammu, he said.
The persons under treatment have been identified as Ashok Kumar (24), son of Prem Nath, Rajnder Kumar (16), son of Charan Dass, Santosh Devi (26), daughter of Shankar Dass, Sapna Devi (23), wife of Ramesh Kumar, Om Parkash (30), son of Shankar Dass, Kartaru Devi (50), wife of Shankar Dass and Kashish Devi (12), daughter of Desraj.
Batote police has taken cognizance in this regard.
