REASI, Sept 5: A 16-year old girl drowned while crossing river Ans at Andoli Badhora in Mahore, here today.
Another minor girl, relative of the deceased, who was also caught in the flowing water, was rescued even as she sustained minor injuries in the incident.
The deceased was identified as Binash Malik alias Mumtaz, daughter of Mohd Shafi. She along with other girl namely Fozia Akhter (15), daughter of Abdul Ghani of Dalwa Gool, was crossing the river when the incident took place.
After Police and locals reached the spot, body of the deceased was fished out while the injured girl was shifted to SDH Mahore where she was under treatment.
According to the locals, both the girls had gone for taking bath in the river where they were trying to cross deep water for reaching other side.
