4 drug peddlers arrested with ganja

JAMMU, Sept 7: Canal Road police under “Operation Sanjeevani” arrested four drug peddlers along with 8.5 kilograms of poppy straw.
As per police spokesman, a team from Canal Road police post during patrolling near GGM Science College signaled a group of four persons to stop for checking.
On seeing the cops, the persons tried to escape from the spot, but were chased and intercepted.
On search of their belongings, police recovered 8.5 kilograms of ganja from their possession and arrested them.
During preliminary enquiry, it came to light that all the accused belongs to Chhattisgarh, presently residing in Krishna Nagar Jammu and working as painters.
A case under FIR Number 125/17 has been registered at Police Station Nowabad and further investigation of the case is going on.
Police team led by Incharge Canal Road police post SI Neelam Saini made the arrest under the supervision of SHO Nowabad Inspector Neeraj Bhagat, SDPO West Pranav Mahajan and SP City Dr Vinod Kumar.
