Full Court reference to pay tributes to Advocate Kotwal

JAMMU, Nov 4: Bar Association Jammu has decided to abstain from work in all the Courts including High Court to mourn the demise of Senior Advocate Jaswant Singh Kotwal, who breathed his last on the intervening night of November 3 and 4 at Government Medical College and Hospital here.
He is survived by two sons– Kabir Kotwal and Amur Kotwal, both practising lawyers.
A large number of people from all walks of life including lawyers and Judges visited the residence of Advocate Kotwal and also attended his last rites at Shakti Nagar Cremation Ground.
According to the President Bar Association Jammu, B S Salathia, the lawyers will abstain from work tomorrow as mark of respect to the departed soul. There will be a Full Court reference under the chairmanship of Chief Justice M M Kumar to pay tributes to the departed soul.
Born in village Puneja, Bhaderwah on August 19, 1934, Senior Advocate Kotwal started his career in legal profession in the year 1969. Because of his out-standing merit, legal acumen and impeccable integrity, the Full Court of J&K High Court in the year 1992 designated him as Senior Advocate. He also remained President of J&K High Court Bar Association Jammu.
