Yawar, Mattoo attend Pugwash Conference at Kazakhstan

SRINAGAR, Sept 8: MLA, Rafiabad, Yawar Dilawar Mir has stressed the need to embark on a road of dialogue for resolving all issues and ensuring peace for future generations in South Asia.
Yawar Mir expressed his views at 62nd Pugwash Conference, which was held at Astana in Kazakhstan from 25th to 29th August 2017. He along with  Prof Amitabh Mattoo, Political Advisor to Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister, were among 57 delegates from various countries of the world  which  include Saudi Arabia, Tehran, China, India, Oman, UK, Egypt, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Lebanon, Belgium, Jordan and UAE who participated in the  Astana, Pugwash Conference.
The five days Conference deliberated on subject “Science and World Affairs: Confronting New Nuclear Dangers” in seven working groups. During the conference, Yawar Mir participated in the Working Group 5 of the conference to deliberate on “Regional Security: South Asia (Afghanistan, Pakistan, India).”
He urged for the course of dialogue and reconciliation to solve all the outstanding issues for peace in the sub-continent with special reference to two neighboring countries of India and Pakistan.
