SRINAGAR: In a significant development with huge positive implications for J&K economy, the GST Council, which met at Hyderabad in Telangana, today agreed to slash the Goods and Services Tax (GST) rate on walnuts besides approved exemption of small handicraft traders from the registration under the new tax regime.
Meanwhile, the GST Council is also reported to have extended the last date for filing of sales return or GSTR-1 by a month to October 10, 2017. The GST on walnut has been slashed from existing 12 per cent to 5 per cent, an official spokesman said here this evening. (AGENCIES)
