SRINAGAR, Sept 9: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kupwara, Khalid Jahangir conducted an extensive tour of Industrial Estates viz, Industrial Estate Chotipora and Radbough to inspect ongoing developmental works and functioning of various units within the estates.
He was accompanied by ADC Handwara, GM DIC, Project Engineer SICOP, Executive Engineer PHE Division Kupwara, Executive Engineer, PHE Division Handwara, Executive Engineer, PDD Division Kupwara and Executive Engineer, PDD Handwara.
The DDC directed the representatives of Industrial Association Chotipora to get a feedback about the problems being faced by them. It was assured that problems and demands will be projected before the appropriate authorities for early resolution.
Project Engineer, SICOP was directed to prepare estimate for completion for developmental works including construction of drainage system, macadamization of roads, Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) etc to be furnished within three days. He was further directed to ensure quality and speed in the ongoing works for ensuring them early completion.
Executive Engineer, PHE Handwara was directed to complete the over head tank being constructed for the Industrial Estate Chotipora by the end of October 2017. Besides, PDD authorities were also asked to make a proposal for augmentation of existing power distribution system in the Industrial Estate. The unit holders were advised to lay thrust on quality products so that they are able to compete with the bigger firms.
The DDC also visited upcoming Industrial Estate Radbough and directed for expeditious completion of all works which include development of roads, construction of drainage, laying of HT, LT network, construction of water reservoir, etc. Project Engineer, SICOP was directed to augment the main power and other resources for expediting the space of execution. The timing for completion of project was fixed as 31st March, 2018.
