JAMMU, Sept 9: Principal, District Institute of Education and Training (DIET) Jammu Mangal Dev inaugurated first ever mathematical laboratory of J&K at Government Higher Secondary School, Jhajjar Kotli.
This laboratory has been set up under the chairmanship of Santosh Kumari in collaboration with NCERT New Delhi, Regional Institute of Education Ajmer, Vigyan Prasar (VIPNET) Noida, Department of Science and Technology, Central University of Jammu and other research institutes across the globe.
The mathematical laboratory has proved to be very essential component of learning process of mathematics. In this laboratory, the theoretical concepts are experienced with the help of tools and activities prepared to facilitate the fundamental processes which cannot be fruitful by formal class room teaching methods. This method of learning mathematics is a special technique for average and slow learners.
This technique has been developed by Rajeev Trikha to develop the mental level of very backward and discarded children to reach college, university and even engineering institutes by excelling at national level competitions.
On the occasion, Principal DIET Jammu released a working research module on mathematics for onward submission to the Union Ministry of Human Resource and Development for inclusion in the vision document for benefit of students of the country.
