Seven more Dengue cases in Jammu

JAMMU, Sept 12: Seven more cases of Dengue have been reported in Jammu, taking the total number of patients affected with the disease so far this year to 31 in Jammu district and 38 in whole Jammu region.
“With seven more cases in Jammu district, the number of people affected with the vector-borne disease in Jammu region has raised to 38”, a health official said, adding, of all the districts, Jammu district has highest 31 cases while Poonch, followed by Samba district, which has 2 such cases while one case each has been reported from Poonch, Rajouri, Udhampur, Kathua and Doda districts.
He said that a total of 313 patients were tested for dengue till today out of which 38 cases were found to be positive and reports of 220 were found negative while result of 55 samples are still awaited. “No death has been reported due to Dengue so far”, he added.
He further revealed that out of these 38 dengue patients, 31 were adults (21 males and 10 females) and 7 were children (4 males and 3 females). “Most of the patients affected with the disease have returned to their home after successful treatment while out of those who are still under treatment, no one is critical”, he added.
