BHADERWAH, Sept 12: The sleuths of Forest Department today seized 309 scants of illicit timber.
According to DFO Bhaderwah Vivek Verma, on specific information, the sleuths of FCR Bhaderwah and FPF J-8 Gamma Unit Doda conducted raid in compartment 1 and 5 of Jai block of Chiralla Forest Range and seized 309 scants of illicit timber.
The officials deputed on combing operation found that the dumps are to be 2 to 3 years old, he said, adding that the entire illicit timber stuff has been taken under custody and detailed inquiry stands ordered and delinquent staff will be taken to task.
