Rohingya nabbed with narcotics

JAMMU, Sept 12: Police today arrested a Rohingya national and recovered 10 kilogram narcotics from his possession.
Police said a special naka laid by police teams  arrested the Rohingya national from village Chowadi and recovered 10 kilograms ‘ganja’ in very purified form from his possession, which he had brought from outside the State for selling among the youth.
The accused has been identified as Mohammad Qasim son of Roohul Amin R/o Quansibali, a Rohingya from Myanmar, presently settled at Karyani, Talab Tillo.
Police parties headed by SDPO East Arun Jamwal and comprising Incharge Police Post Sainik Colony SI Irfan Wani made the arrest under the supervision of SP City South Sandeep Choudhary.
Earlier also, police had arrested couple of Rohingyas along with drugs, which they were smuggling from outside the State and giving them to local youths.
A case against the accused has been registered under NDPS Act for further investigations.
