Ch. Vikram Randhawa along with Director Floriculture, Babila Rakwal, inspected various parks being maintained by the Floriculture Department in Channi Himmat and Shastri Nagar. During their inspection to these parks Randhawa directed the department for the proper maintenance. While inspecting the parks at Channi Himmat, Sector 2 and Sector 3, Randhawa observed that some repair work required to be done immediately.
He on the spot issued instructions to the department to start the repair and maintenance work without any further delay. He said that as tourism is the backbone of the economy of the State and large number of tourists visit every year in the city of temples, these parks, if maintained properly, can become center of attraction for the tourists.
He also urged the local populace of the area that these parks are their property and they should come forward to keep them clean. The Department of Floriculture will maintain them properly but said that as the entire nation is joining the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Swachh Bharat’ campaign, we must become part of it and keep our surroundings neat and clean. These parks are assets of the public and can contribute a lot to their lifestyle. It is therefore duty of every individual to maintain them properly and keep them neat and clean, Randhawa maintained.
Besides Director Floriculture, MLC was also accompanied by the staff of the Floriculture Department.
