He said that wearing a VVIP swagger, the Ministers unabashedly portrayed themselves as rulers rather than as public representatives. He said that democracy had lost its sheen and relevance in J&K with such Ministers acting as unquestionable despots.  He said that the common man and the un-influential faced the worst era of suppression and oppression. He said that while poor indigent masses had no say, the daily rated, need based, contractuals and consolidated employees who were without wages for years faced the brunt of a highly unresponsive and arrogant Government. He was sharing contents of his interaction  with the Union Home Minister with media here today.
The contractual lecturers comprising females in majority were on hunger strike on roadside for the last 212 days with not a single minister bothering to take note of their deplorable plight or to listen to their grievances. With highly qualified female lecturers on chain hunger strike consecutively for seven months and NHM female workers lathi-charged in Kathua while seeking release of their unpaid pending wages, the J&K helmsmen made the most contemptuous mockery of the slogan of “Beti Bachao Beti-Padao” so loudly trumpeted and sold with a big splash by PM Modi all over country and even abroad.
While interacting with Union Home Minister,  Harsh Dev Singh said that while the people suffered worst nightmares due to Pak shelling on borders, the Ministers remained insulated in their cocooned and sanitized world quite unmindful of their woes and sufferings. He said that having lost all connect with their electorates, the J&K Ministers behaved as pope of Rome with occasional appearances being made by them through the media alongwith their fictional accounts of achievements.
Rajnath Singh greeted  Harsh Dev Singh for endorsing his issues with intermittent instructions to Dr  Jitendra Singh MoS, PMO and Dr Nirmal Singh Dy Chief Minister who were seated besides him.
