Budding singers display talent

JAMMU, Nov 5: Young budding singers of Jammu region displayed today their talent by reciting the poetry of prominent poets of the country.
The poetry of renowned poets namely Maikash Kashmiri, Abid Manawari, OP Sharma, Saarthi, Vidya Rattan Aasee and S Pritpal Singh Betab were recited by the singers. The gazals were composed by Prithvi Raj Sharma and Sham Sajan, the reputed music directors of the State.
Gursharan Kour, Apporva Jamwal, Sargam Pant, S Rabjot Singh and Vishwa Ganharv Kaswalia presented their melody in quite capable way and were accompanied by Bahadur Singh on violin, Karan Malhotra on tabla, Rohit Sharma on santoor and Dheeraj Mattoo on guitar.
The programme was organised by Indian Cultural Forum, Jammu. Secretary, Regional Red Cross Society, Jammu was the guest of honour while principal, Shangrilla Higher Secondary School, Sarwal and Senior Advocate, High Court, Jammu, DC Raina, were the guests of honour. Seema Sehgal, a reputed singer presided over the function.
President of the organisation, Sham Sajan while speaking on the occasion, emphasized that such programmes be conducted at large scale to promote young artists of the State.
