JAMMU, Sept 19: Senior Congress leader and former minister Dr Manohar Lal Sharma today criticized the Coalition Government in the State and NDA regime at the Centre over their complete failure to fulfill the genuine demands of the people of the State, particularly from Jammu region.
While addressing the people during brief public meetings at Nagrota-Gujru, Kah, Lakhri, Ucha Pind, Bhalal, Gurah Kalyal, Phinter and Kishanpur in Billawar constituency today, Dr Sharma said that during this period, not a single genuine public demand has been fulfilled. No sincere initiative has been taken towards the redressal of the genuine demands by the present dispensation of BJP and PDP.
The Congress leader further said that the failure of BJP- PDP Government in all aspects, especially deliverance and governance as committed by both the parties during Assembly elections in the state is a matter of serious concern. The promises made to the people of providing a good governance and better deliverance proved fake, as nothing has been seen on ground during last three power. The working style of BJP in present dispensation is totally against the interest of Jammu province but the people of Jammu who had high expectations proved hollow. They created wedge between the people of Kashmir and Jammu region for their vested interests .
This Government, especially BJP stood exposed on abandoning Artificial Lake project on river Tawi, abrogation of Article 370, silence on Art 35, establishment of AIIMS in Jammu as no notification has been issued yet, settlement of West Pak Refugees and PoK DPs of 1947, 1965 and 1971, separate Homeland for Kashmiri migrants, relief to the farmers of the border areas affected by the unprecedented firing and heavy shelling, commitment of 5 marla plots to people residing in border areas, regulation of daily wagers/CP/ ITI workers and contractual teachers and employees of various departments, Gandola project, declaration of holiday on the birth anniversary of Maharaja Hari Singh, issuance of Dogra certificate and withdrawal of Toll Tax at Lakhanpur.
He alleged that people are watching the criminal silence on the part of Jammu ministers and MLAs.
