SRINAGAR: With an aim to digitise the judiciary, Chief Justice of the Jammu and Kashmir High Court Justice Badar Durrez today inaugurated the first e-court here.
The first paperless e-court Srinagar (wing) in the State will start functioning from next week and will use digitised case records, thereby bringing down paper and space required to maintain the records, an official spokesman said here.
The Chief Justice said it will help litigants as well as advocates to know the status of different cases speedily.
Justice Durrez thanked Chief Secretary B B Vyas for the quick response and providing timely funds for the completion of the project, which took only four months to accomplish. (AGENCIES)
