JAMMU, Sept 22: Member Legislative Council (MLC), Ch. Vikram Randhawa, today kick-started blacktopping of a road at Channi Himmat in Gandhi Nagar Assembly Segment.
Randhawa today visited Sector-2 of Channi Himmat and kick-started blacktopping of a road which was a long pending demand of the local residents. Speaking on the occasion Randhawa said that he is committed to develop each and every nook and corner of the Gandhi Nagar constituency as the BJP is carrying forward the slogan of the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi-‘Sabka Sath Sabka Vikas’. He said that he and local legislator Kavinder Gupta will leave no stone unturned to make Gandhi Nagar a developed constituency.
The locals present on the occasion said that the road was macadamized around 15 years ago and after that none of the legislator paid any heed to their demand. They complimented the MLC, Ch. Vikram Randhawa for meeting out their long pending demand.
Earlier, MLC launched a plantation drive at Government Higher Secondary School Gandhi Nagar. While addressing the students and staff of the school Randhawa laid stress on planting more and more trees for clean environment. He said trees will help in minimizing the affect of the global warming.
Randhawa also participated in ‘Swachhta Hi Sewa campaign’ at Government Girls High School, Gandhi Nagar and encouraged the students and teachers to actively participate in the mission to make India clean. He said that only awareness can lead to a ‘Swacch Bharat’.
Those who accompanied the Member Legislative Council to various programmes include Kulbir Charak, R.S Gupta, Ashok Gupta, Rajveer Singh and others.
