JAMMU, Sept 25: Padma Sachdev will be the first awardee of Dinu Bhai Pant Life Time Achievement Award, instituted by D B Pant Memorial Trust.
Dr Manoj, president of the Dinu Bhai Pant Memorial Trust, made this announcement after the meeting of the Trust here today. He said that this award instituted in the memory of the legendary poet Dinu Bhai Pant, in his birth centenary year, will be given away every year for the life time achievement of a senior Dogri writer.
“The committee, set up for this purpose, has selected nationally and internationally acclaimed Dogri poet Padamsri Padma Sachdev for this year’s award,” he added. The prestigious DBP Award carries a cheque of rupees fifty thousand, a Medallion, citation and a shawl.
The award ceremony will be held on 3rd of October 2017 at Abhinav Theatre Jammu. It will be organized by Dogri Sanstha Jammu, of which Dinu Bhai Pant was the founder member.
