Rally taken out to mark Maharaja’s birthday

UDHAMPUR, Sept 25: Shri Amar Kshtriya Rajput Sabha J&K today celebrated  birthday of Maharaja Hari Singh at Udhampur town.
In this connection, a massive bikes & car rally was taken out from Jakheni crossing via Dhar Road up to Tikari in which more than 300 bikes and equal number of car participated.
The youth who participated in the rally kept on chanting slogans “Maharaja Hari Singhji Amar Radhe” Dogra Unity Zindabad”, and “Chheen ke Lenge Apna Haq.”
Narayan Singh, the president of the Sabha while talking to media personnel said that it is unfortunate that Government did not declare 23 September a State holiday which has hurt common man in the province, declining holiday demand is as good as ignoring public voice, because it was not only the demand of particular community rather a united voice of all Dogra community, the Government should get ready to face the consequences.
He further highlighted the achievements of late Maharaja and also explained how Maharaja was forced to leave his own State.
MS Katoch,  the advisor to the Sabha also spoke on the occasion. He  added that after final rituals his ashes were spread on the Jammu  city.   “We feel that soul of late Maharaja  is still looking for justice with him as well as with his Dogra community and the day has come those ashes has sparked the current in the public.
Pawan Chib asked masses to keep themselves ready for agitation.
It was also resolved in the meeting that hence forth every year this event shall be celebrated with big pomp and show and every citizen of district Udhampur shall participate to make it a mega event.
Prominent among others who participated in the programme included Narinder Singh Bhau, Resham Singh Jamwal,  Purshotam Singh,  Jullundur Singh, Swarn Singh Parihar,  Nand Lal of Chenani, Yashpal, Keshav Singh Garnai, Raghuvir Singh, Vikram Slathia,  Mahadeep Singh and Arjun Singh.
