JAMMU, Sept 25: Describing the illegal settlement of the Rohingyas and Bangladeshis in Jammu as a grave threat to cultural, historical and religious identity of Dogras, Shiv Sena asked the Government to deport them without any delay.
While talking to media persons here at Jammu, Shiv Sena North zone leader Arun Pathak said that Rohingyas, who were banished and forced to leave Myanmar because of their involvement in criminal and terror-related activities, had been allowed to enter Jammu under a deep-rooted conspiracy.
He described the soaring population of the Rohingyas as a potential threat to the demography of Jammu. “Rohingyas are living in colonies around the city and some of them have illegally managed to procure permanent resident certificates, identity cards, ration cards, water and electricity connections with the assistance of those at the helm of the affairs’, he alleged.
Pathak said the criminal silence of the coalition and the BJP in particular over the illegal settlement of foreign nationals vindicated the intentions of the dispensation to reduce the Dogras to a minority. Urging the State Government to take immediate measures to evict the Rohingyas and Bangladeshis, Pathak said any further delay in the process was fraught with dangerous portends.
He accused the BJP of bartering the aspirations of the people of the Jammu region for power. He said Shiv Sena strongly opposes settlement of Rohingyas refugees in Jammu and also in other parts of the country. He said that Governments of India and J&K must took concrete steps to deport Rohingyas from Jammu as well as from India.
Those who were present on the occasion were Dimpy Kohli, Rakesh Gupta, Manish Sahni and others.
