SAMBA, Sept 25:Bhargava College of Engineering and Technology, Samba, organized one-day national workshop on awareness on Massive Open Online Courses through NPTEL IIT-KANPUR.
Dr Deepu Philip, Professor Industrial Engineering and Management Deptt, ITT Kanpur, gave presentation on NPTEL initiatives in higher learning.  He also discussed UAV Project, carried by him for Indian Army.
Angana Sengupta, Local Chapter Coordinator NPTEL. lIT Kanpur, presented a detailed presentation of MOOCs and other academic initiatives by NPTEL.
Earlier, the workshop started with Saraswati Vandana, followed by National Anthem.
Director BCET, Prof M S Baloria, in his welcome address, thanked the chief guest Dr Koushal Samotra, Principal GCW Gandhi Nagar and team member from NPTEL UT-KANPUR.
Coordinator of the workshop, Ashok Sharma, presented detailed introduction about the workshop and need of MOOCs in higher learning.

In North India, this was first of such a national level workshop in association with IIT Kanpur, organized by any college. More than 200 participants from all over India participated in the workshop.
The workshop was very interactive and the resource person replied to all queries of participants regarding NPTEL MOOCs.
