Crude oil futures up Rs 13 fuelled by global cues

NEW  DELHI, Sept 26:  Crude oil futures spurted by Rs 13 to Rs 3,419 per barrel today after participants widened their bets, tracking a firming trend overseas.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude oil for delivery in October contracts was trading higher by Rs 13 or 0.38 per cent at Rs 3,419 per barrel with a business turnover of 3,763 lots.
The crude for November delivery also moved up Rs 11 or 0.32 per cent to Rs 3,445 per barrel with a business volume of 102 lots.
Marketmen attributed the rise in crude oil futures to a firming trend in global markets where Brent hit a two-year high on Monday, helped by output curbs by the organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries and other major producers.
Meanwhile, West Texas Intermediate crude prices rose 0.13 per cent to trade at USD 52.29 a barrel while Brent crude was up 0.53 per cent, at USD 59.33 on the New York Mercantile Exchange. (PTI)
