Governor hosts Flag Day function

JAMMU, Nov 7 : The Annual Flag Day and Foundation Day of the J&K State Bharat Scouts and Guides was celebrated at Raj Bhavan here this evening.
N N Vohra, Governor, who is the patron of the J&K State Bharat Scouts and Guides, speaking on the occasion, emphasized the need for explaining to all students in the State, particularly the middle and high school students, the vital importance of this Day and suggested that the Youth Services Department should organize such activities on a regular basis as this would help in making the youth, particularly the Scouts and Guides, aware of their duties towards the nation as enshrined in the Constitution of our country.
He suggested to J P Singh, Director Youth Services and Sports, who was present on the occasion, to prepare and distribute pamphlets, in all schools, which list national duties for enlarging the awareness of our youth, adding that ways and means would be found to support such an initiative.
Referring to the need for establishment of the State Level Training Centre for the Bharat Scouts and Guides at Jammu, the Governor said that he would discuss this matter further with R  S  Chib, Minister for Youth Services and Sports.
Usha Vohra, First Lady, and R S Chib, Minister for Youth Services and Sports, were present on the occasion.
The Governor made a contribution to the Annual Flag Day function and wished the Scouts and Guides all success in their mission.
ID Soni, State Commissio-ner, J&K State Bharat Scouts and Guides, in his welcome address dwelt on the activities of the organization and its future plans.
N A Khan, State Chief Commissioner, J&K State Bharat Scouts and Guides, Mrs. Nasreen Khan, Guides Commissioner, J&K State Bharat Scouts and Guides, senior functionaries of the organization, Scouts and Guides and Principals of various educational institutions were present on the occasion.
