Birth anniversary of Maharaja Hari Singh celebrated

RAMBAN, Oct 8: The 123rd birth anniversary of late Maharaja Hari Singh was celebrated today with pomp and show by district unit of Shri Amar Kshatriya (Rajput) Sabha here at Hanuman temple, Kowbagh.
Member Parliament, Lok Sabha, from Partap Garh (Uttar Pradesh) and president, Akhil Bhartiya Kshatriya Maha Sabha, Haribansh Singh, was the chief guest on the occasion while BS Slathia, president, J&K High Court Bar Association, Jammu, was the guest of honour.
The function started at 12 noon and the floral tributes were paid to Maharaja Hari Singh by the chief guest, guest of honour and all other prominent dignitaries.
All the speakers said that the Maharaja’s tenure was a memorable one, as he framed numerous laws for the welfare of public of J&K. They demanded the Government to declare gazette holiday each year on September 23, the birth anniversary of Maharaja Hari Singh.
Haribansh Singh, in his address, appreciated the far sightedness of Maharaja ji in introducing various laws and welfare measures in the State for the people. He also stressed upon declaration of holiday on birth anniversary of Maharaja Ji.
