JAMMU, Oct 11: A notorious criminal has been arrested along with pistol from Maralian area, falling under the jurisdiction of Miran Sahib Police Station.
As per police sources, on specific information, a police team from Miran Sahib Police Station and sleuths of District Special Branch laid a naka at Maralian and apprehended a notorious criminal along with Czechoslovakian pistol having four live cartridges in its magazine.
The arrested criminal has been identified as Mohammad Benia, son of Hakim Din, a resident of Maralian. With his arrested, cops foiled his attempt to murder his rival.
A case under FIR Number 142/17 under Section 3/25 Arms Act has been registered at Police Station Miran Sahib and investigation started.
It is to mention that, this is the fourth pistol recovered by Sub Division RS Pura Police in past 20 days.
Police team led by ASI Kulbir Singh made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura Surinder Choudhary and SP Headquarters Jammu RC Kotwal.
