Czech made pistol seized in Jammu

JAMMU, Oct 11: Police today recovered two pistols including one Made in Czechoslovakia in Miran Sahib area and was investigating how the weapon reached here from a far-off country and whether it had to do anything with the militancy.
On a tip off, a joint team of District Special Branch (DSB) Jammu and Miran Sahib police station conducted a joint raid at Miran Sahib and recovered Czechoslovakia Made pistol from a suspected criminal identified as Mohammad Biniya alias Napu son of Hakim Din R/o Maralian.
On being quizzed, the suspect was unable to explain from where he got sophisticated foreign made pistol. However, police believed that he had stolen the pistol from a cement dealer, who had also purchased it illegally.
The cement dealer would be quizzed after it was established that he got the Czechoslovakia made pistol. Apart from pistol, police have also recovered four live rounds.
Police also recovered a country made pistol, one live cartridge and one sharp edged weapon from Arjun Kumar alias Billoo son of Sham Lal R/o Tinday, Miran Sahib and foiled a murder plot.
Separate cases have been registered and accused were being quizzed, police said.
Police parties supervised by SP Headquarters Romesh Kotwal and DySP District Special Branch Sagar Singh made the arrests and recoveries.
